i just bought myself a brands new 40inch sony bravia and i hooked my computer up to it via a DVI to HDMI cable from my graphics card.
whe i try and start the game it flashes up the BF2 splash screen then nothing.. it just stops loading..
any ideas..

i have been able to play other games on it so i dont know what the problem is.. is it the resolution (1920 X 1080) ?

oh yeah specs..
COMPUTER:
E8650
8600GT 512mb

TV
40 inch Sony Bravia V series (KDL40V4000)

using a DVI-HDMI adapter cable

Does it at least go black then Back to Desktop?

In that case you need the widescreen command (+szx 1920 +szy 1080).

yeah splash screen then flashes black for a split second then back to desktop..
can you explain the widescreen command please..

and i forgot to mention that im running vista home premium

Change your shortcut's Target:

Code:

"C:\Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +szx 1680 +szy 1050
Note the quotes around the exe path, but not the switches.

okay i tried the shortcut code.. (+szx 1920 +szy 1080)." but it still wont display..
i can play the game at 1280 x 1024 or something, whatever the max res is on the in-game menu..
i also edited the files in the my documents folder as well (video.con) but still wont work..
are there any other solutions to fix this?
