BF2S Forums Battlefield 2 complete collection question

I seriously doubt it was the complete collection. If you post your laptop specs and your in-game video settings, I'm sure we could get to the bottom of this very quickly.

Just the fact that it took > 2 hours to install tells me that your computer was probably too slow to play bf2 properly.

It's enough to play, but what are your video settings? If you're running on high, that machine can't handle it. You'll have to keep most things set to mid or low to play smoothly. Here are a couple of pointers: try to keep your in-game resolution equal to or less than your Windows resolution. If you're playing on a laptop, that probably means <= 1024x768. Also, try to match your in-game refresh rate to your Windows refresh rate. Keep anti-aliasing off. Terrain, lighting and texture filtering should be low. Keep dynamic light and possibly dynamic shadows off.

If may be easier to think of it this way: Keep everything except geometry, effects, lighting and distance scale turned down or off. Those four really affect how much you can see in the game, the rest just make it pretty. Especially geometry and distance scale.

You can look through the impact of all the settings here, but if you're about to get a new machine, it probably doesn't matter that much anyway.
