To play BF2

I just installed BF2 and unable to play it. I DL the 1.4 patch and then a window pops saying to install the 1.3 patch. There is one thing unable to find the 1.3 patch anywhere. Found the 13.>1.4 patch but after installing it. It still says to install the 1.3 patch. WTF is going on here. I just had my PC completely wiped out and started from the beginning. New video card new sound card and went up to 3 gig of ram and 220 gig hard drive. and it still wants to mess with me.

What am i doing wrong here?
Any help would be nice please

What do you mean in order. I can't even find the 1.3 patch anywhere just the 1.4 patch. I do DL them but it's when I try to install them is when the window pops up saying to install 1.3 patch..

You have to install 1.3, before you install the later patches.

Have you searched the internet for the patch?

No you don't. I installed bf2 a couple of days ago and installed 1.41 straight up, no other patches required.

Well i tried the 1.4 straight up and it say to DL the 1.3

I did find a 1.3 patch and when I DL it it says to DL 1.22 patch So i said @^%$ it and I'm DL all the dam patches until i get to 1.41...............

You know what else is funny. I installed COD4 and can't even play it. My new video card is unable to support it. So happy about that I tell ya.

Running a G force FX 5500 and i need a 6600 or higher to play. And don't have the $ for it.

OK now I got the 1.41 patch installed. And still unable to play.

I double click on BF2 to play on my desk top and then my screen shows the BF2 logo and the it goes black and right back to the desk top...

You're using the incremental patch. That's a no-no. Get the full 1.41 patch and you should be fine.

It's because your video card can't handle it, or you're having some kind of conflict. Try upgrading to the latest drivers. If that doesn't work, you're S.O.L. until you can upgrade that card. Sorry for the bad news.

No that was for playing COD4 not BF2. And it's G force 5800 and yes i know it to small of a card. Where could I get a good one. I'm running APG not PCI Ex.

I've heard of people running BF2 on FX5500...

No wait, that was FX5700

If you have a FX5800, technically you should be fine....

No it was the video card. I got a new one and it worked right after I installed the card. And now when I want to play the game a warning keeps popping up about my Mods and shader not in the right path or some crap like that . Not sure exactly.
