I have a question for any of you Canadians:

My friends and I are thinking about driving up to the Arctic Circle, to a place called Ft. McPherson, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything interesting to go see in The Yukon, northern British Columbia and the Northwest Territories???

Also what is the average speed limit on your highways and do you think there will be campgrounds on the way????

Any help would be greatly appreciated,,,

LOL! finally a forum asking canadians! i especially registered to reply. On our highways, the max speed is 100km/h = around 60m/h. In the northern part of british columbia (BC) are alot of Boreal Forest which look very nice when they're covered in snow. BC, where i live, is a very nice province -  you won't get dissapointed cause mother nature never fails!

Speed limit is terrible but everyone goes over anyway. (Travelling on any highway at 120 km/h and you'll be seeing people overtaking you )

Going past the arctic circle?

AURORA.

Other than that, I don't know much of the northern part of the great white.

We were actually thinking of going when they have daylight 24 hours a day, so unfotunately we won't be able to see the Aurora

100Km/h is more a "recommendation" LOL

Here in Quebec you can drive at 120Km/h without any problems on highways...But to get where you want to go, you will have to use small roads where the speed limit is 90Km/h.

Hurry up BTW... because the Great White is melting fast... may not even be there once you got there LOL

Yep that is most definitely the French influence there... Setting traffic rules as guidelines We could fine you if you go over 100km/h, but we might if you go over 120 and we are having a bad day...

Ever been in Paris by car?

Then again, Belgium has similar flexibility, and is greatly appreciated

Cheers,

I'm from BC and you can speed anywhere up north, minding the road hazards, but down in southern BC don't speed or you'll get enough tickets to make a book. The cops need revenue

There's a billion places to camp, but further up north it thins out and you can camp wherever you want, just don't leave a mess or park somewhere suspicious.

As for stuff to see, I hope your nature oriented because there is a ton of outdoors things to do, but don't count on any city life up north.

She lives in Prince George right now... but are thinking of moving to Vancouver.

I hear the rents there are ridiculous, though.

Looks like im the only yukoner here... have any of you accually been to the artic circle before, not much there. Theres campgrounds all over the place and the speed limit is 90km/h-110km/h on most of the roads in the yukon, not that many cops after you get out of town. Even in town I go 140+ constitantly.

things to see... uhh nature, other than that its fairly boring. Theres a couple cool musiems to see and if you can catch a good party in dawson thats a sight to see. Ill give you any info that you need, just send an email to [email protected] or post any questions. I live in whitehorse and have been to virtually everywhere in the yukon.

Hey dude, Canada sucks.  They are just lucky they live next to the US where they are protected and 80% of their exports can be sent to.  Hahahahahaha, Canada.... Good laugh....

Haha, "eh"... What are you talking "aboot"...  LOL, your killing me dude.  Are you a sepratist?  LOL!  "We are French Canadian, we like cheese, wine and mooses."  LOL.  America should shut Canada down.  Cut all imports from that country, we are probably at a HUGE import/export deficit with you guys anyway.  There are a lot of drunk indians in Canada.  Have you realized all the bad Americans go to Canada (draft dodgers) and all the good Canadians come to America (Celine Dion, Avril Lavernge)...  I rest my case....

Moron in training.
If you call college a place to train morons, then yes I am.  And what do you know about anything dude.  Read my other post and you come up with some facts, then we can talk business.  Otherwise, don't quote my posts.  You don't deserve the privalage.

LOL <{SoE}>Agamemnar..... ?  What are you Osama Bin Ladens cousin or something?  Might as well change your name to Mohamad, only play as MEC and scream "Praise Allah" in Arabic after you kill someone with a BF2 IED.  <{SoE}>Agamemnar....  Your definitely Canadian.

I didn't bother looking up Avril's name because she does suck.  But you only supported my point, all good Canadians come to the US because they can't make crap in Canada.  Most of them live here too...  Come up with some facts specifically showing how the US needs Canada and Canada doesn't need the US.  Then you have something.  And no I'm not 13 dude.  How does spelling Avril's name incorrectly make me 13 years old?  Are you on the Sex Offenders list in Canada?  Are you a priest?

Read my edited post.

And please remember who powers pretty much your entire north-eastern seaboard. Remember that black-out some years back and the ensuing panic?

Natural resources + Great standing with the rest of the world > Artificiality.

Btw if your rebuttle to call me a priest or sex offender was supposed to be clever, you failed miserably.
It's not just the population though, America is setup like a huge economic powerhouse.  Basically what the EU is trying to create.  I've been to Canada, its a beautiful country.  But you need to recognize that the US is Canada's Daddy....  Come on, just say it.  If you say it, then I will admit I eat pies...
