Unsurprisingly I live in a house. If my home gets broken into I see to it that the perpetrator is caught and brought to justice by the appropriate legal channels. Taking the law into your own hands - being judge, jury and executioner - is called 'barbarianism'. I have had items of mine stolen before and I know how angry it made me. At the end of the day though the punishment must fit the crime and if you think that stealing or squatting deserves the death penalty then you're no better than the people who flock to squares in Medina to watch somebody get their head lopped off.
