except for the fact that there is no reason to do that. Keeping your CPU cooler, saving energy and expanding it's life at the cost of no performance is a good deal
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Vista reduces speed of the CPU when you don't use demanding apps.
Are you serious? I thought you knew this stuff more than most on this forum.
Hey man whats your problem? Seriously? Have you ever used Vista? Write me a PM if you have a problem with my posts and stop with the stupid comments about my tech knowledge.
Indeed, why are you always so grumpy? Is it all the pre-1980's hardware you've taped on the wall that makes you frustrated?

Not if it's not going back up to the default speed when he's doing something that can actually make use of it.

Well I'm using an E6750 with it disabled. I've found that it makes everything faster since the cpu doesn't always clock back to default when it's needed. The only time it would overclock was when I ran really stressful apps like prime95. Using bf2, crysis, and assassin's creed left the cpu at underclocked freqs.

lol I wasn't bashing, not for a moment. I HAD this problem and it was Vista's fault. So I suggest he should try to check power options. Whats wrong with that? Link me to my Vista bashing threads/replies so I can see if there are really so many of them to make you go on your nerves.
