"Australian" isn't really an ethnicity unless you're an Aboriginal Australian.
Australian is an ethnicity, we federated the country, and brought technology to the Aboriginals. No offence, and no racism taken, but even today, they are a simpler folk than many others in the world. They abuse their freedoms and liberties given to them, for example housing projects. I won't delve into the stories, because it's off topic, but Australian is an ethnicity since Henry Parkes federated Australia in 1902 (or 1901). We're also going to have a referendum on being a republic, which will sever our ties with England alltogether. We're not a fledgling country anymore.

OK, if you're an Aussie, you are an Australian. But from an anthropology point of view, it's technically incorrect.
If your mother was born in England but she lived in China for nearly all her life, and she married a chinese man, then would you be 100% chinese? Look, Federation gave us an image, I agree, but can we go so far as to say Australian is a new ethnicity? I call myself Aussie, I am an Australian citizen, but I know my ethnicity isn't Australian.

Oh, and about that terra nullius argument, most lawyers, judges as well as learned people have already accepted that as a mistake, it's just that it's way too late to change it.

Hmmm, not sure...

Dads side: My great grandad was a Russian general fighting on the White Side (For the Tsar) And supposedly fled in Yorkshire in 1917, His name was Mikael Golovanov, but had a son with a lodger (no idea who) who was very young and he wasn't married to so gave my grandad to the "Stirk" family. He then married a yorkshire lady "Dorris" Had my Dad.

Moms side: A bit strange, don't know much of the history but apparantly "Done" is a French name, but on her family tree it starts with William the Conquoror (Not sure how much of that I belive).

So i'd say
25% Russian
75% English
(But could possibly be 25% French)
Though half of my family are Africaans (Mom Dad moved there and married into an Africaans family)
