Z's are cool ... besides it reflects the z in zim witch is part of his nick ... therefore it is brilliant

But it isn't because my name/nickname should not be involved in the domain name.

Don't want names in it.

This has to be a killer name, tbh - It will be my reputation until I stop making sites, so it has to be a name which I don't think about twice when I type it in.

This is hard.

Zimmer: Having come from a family of businessmen, I'd probably suggest putting a word in there that has something to do with what you do (graphics, design, etc), with the first letter of the first word being reasonably low in the alphabet for earlier listings in something like a phone book (as generic as it sounds, and despite violating the two word rule somewhat, stuff like abcwebdesign.com would be easy to remember). For what it's worth, my two years of media design suggests that the logo for a name like surreal flow would have a liquid-like abstract design over the top of the wording, with or without a line above/below said words. A smaller icon for other purposes could just be a cropped portion of said image.

Also consider .net, unless it absolutely, positively must be .com.

Good luck.

Yeah, you are right; thing is we want it unique and no bullshit words that get repeated on every web design page.

I love the name bluhalo - it's refreshing, smart and although it means nothing, you know you ain't going to get a porn site.

It just has to be .com, I don't accept anything else.

SurrealFlow is TOO abstract. That is the problem. It means nothing, it has no colours applied to it, its vague and its a mouthful. It was a failure to even buy that domain.

I don't want "graphics" or "design" remotely related to the name. Why? Because we focus on everything, not just that, so it deviates from our aim.

Thanks for your advice.

Agreed. Surreal Flow could even be anything from a music company to yoga classes. 'Services' is another tried-and-true name component. Edit: Also, be careful of names that are too vague. There are so many companies on the web with them that they've become ubiquitous.

Aside from all that, I'd still be tempted by Clown Car Studios.

You could always try the old colour/animal way of company names for instance purplepanda.com etc etc you can then link in the animal to the company logo. I admit they can be slightly ambiguous though it depends what you want from the name colour/animal sticks in the memory reasonably easily as well.

if you want  a really good name and it's so important to you, you probably shouldn't be posting this in a forum of mostly adolescent guys....
Maybe you could hire some agency to come up with a name...

And let them charge me $5,000 for a name I don't want? No thanks. This is all my work and my thought ( and yours if you find me one, of course ). I am not willing to let a team of guys do the same thing I am doing and charge me for it, when I am capable of doing the same thing but with feeling to the matter.

Triple meaning. Literally red, communist (especially with the Soviet Union internet code), and a Spanish word for the Web.
