theres a small ring in your HUD... when u move the helo the first time it moves around an dissapears somewhere...

It's to guide you into a helicopter pad.

It's like a level.

The ring can be interpreted as if you were looking out the bottom of the chopper at a ring drawn on the ground. When the heli is stationary and then moves forward, the spot on the ground moves off the bottom of your screen. When you move backwards, it goes off the top of the screen. When the heli moves right, the spot goes off the left side of the screen. I'm not going to say what the spot does when the heli moves left.
