I will be the first to step up.

I never played a GTA before GTA IV. I like GTA IV a lot. I can't give a great review because I don't think I'm that far in the game, the last thing I did was Spoiler (highlight to read):
rescue Roman from those guys in the warehouse but so far I think it's pretty damn awesome. The lack of things to spend money on and buildings to go in doesn't really bother me. While I can see the room for improvement in what all of you guys complain about, this game for me is still definitely more than adequate. The story missions are fun (my favorites so far have been car chases [and then shooting out the window to take them down]) and I could spend hours just speeding around the city, shooting out the window, and running from the cops.

Also, I like how everything seems interactive. You hit a hydrant and water starts shooting up. You run into people and they fall differently every time. Just generally wreaking havoc is worth hours of fun I'd say.

Only GTA game I ever owned was GTA:Libery City Stories for PSP and I didn't even play it, I got it to hack my PSP using the glitch. I think GTA4 is a great game.  The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is superb.  I haven't done much of the storyline but it's hella fun just driving around the city racking up wanted levels while plowing through civis:P

I played the first mission of VC and SA at my babysitters, but I have never owned a copy and I hope this will be my first

Its great, tho the story could be a bit quicker.  Im still stuck on the first island.. I wanna go downtown where all the skycrapers are.

Also, framerates get sluggish sometimes.  Just like Oblivion.  But the gameplay is so good it doesnt really matter.

I've never played the games as I mentioned in another thread I live with a froathing fanboy fanatic he bought a plasma TV and PS3 purely for GTA 4 and personally after being tortured with the GTA games for the last 12 months leading up to the release of GTA 4 I really cant see what all the hooplah is about it looks like one of the most boring games around .....
