NEW QUESTION:

If you had £750, and wanted a PC which was delivered complete to your home, what would you go for?

Yes, that is a lot of money for mediocre parts. What model is the CPU?
The mobo is somewhat cheap, the ram is very cheap, the gfx card is cheap and not very powerful, the audio is likely integrated, and xp home sucks. Don't buy it. You could build it yourself with the same parts for quite a bit less.

Get a 512Mb 8800GT or a 512Mb 8800GTS for your video card.

That is not bad, MUCH better performance, less money.

looks to be a 6600, as thats the only 4core @2.4 i believe.

also, dont buy the one from your local computer store. your spending more then you would buying it online. the one that stizzle posted is good. i would get that over the one from your local store any day.

Unless you have the money to spare and want to support local businesses, but most likely, you need to save every penny you can.

Been looking at a few of the ones on overclockers and gladiator computers and these three look pretty good:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … mp;subcat=

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =FS-077-OK

but can't decide which one is best!

The first oclockers one is the best, 8800gts > 9600 sli'd

Yeah, go with the 8800GTS one. It's cheaper too, because remember you're going to have to throw in an OS and if you go for the SLI one you'll end up being way over budget

That's complete nonsense.

The 9600 works exceedingly well in SLI. They outperform the 8800GTS 512MB by around 50%, that's a massive, massive amount.

The above statement is true and scientifically proved.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I'd get the 9600GT SLI'd one with the 4GB RAM upgrade and a Cosmos RC-1000.

Not all games support SLi

Not all, but most. If a game doesn't support SLI, it's probably so old that it's not gonna benefit from it.

Name a game that a single 9600GT would struggle with that doesn't support SLI.

What do people think of this one also:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … mp;subcat=

Would quite like a quad, but it's SLI or no SLI that seems to be the question.

Problem is that's a touch over budget.. but I'll definately think about it

note that all overclockers prices at the top dont include the case.. so basically add on 65 quid

Just had to.

Yeah but I'm lazy as hell and am prepared to pay a bit more if someone/thing does it for me.
