I think it's just a bug. One custom map I played, it had flying vending machines in the sky instead of birds.

It's nothing. Just the way the game makes the end of round scores and challenge completed message show on your screen. The game flips through random arabic and greek, i think, letters/ symbols before it reaches the actual display.
