Currently when I attempt to open BF2 it takes 5 or six times to open BF2...

I double click, shows the splash screen...  and then doesn't go any farther, then after the 6th time of trying to open it, it finally goes past the splash screen and into BF2.

Any suggestions?

EA Support perhaps, or try a reinstall. Never heard of that before.

Never heard of any like that, but you can try a few general BF2 problem-solving-steps.

1) Rename your Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents to "Battlefield 2 Old"- and try loading the game again. If it works, top stuff, if it doesn't simply delete the Battlefield 2 folder the game will have created for you, and rename "Battlefield 2 Old" backto "Battlefield 2".

2) Reapply 1.41 patch

Trying 1. would be a good start, I doubt 2. will work, but it won't damage your game trying.

I had a similar error...I patched my system up with my GFX card's latest drivers, seem to not have anymore BF2 launching problems...

(I had that annoying thing where my screen would go black for a few seconds, then it'd go straight back to my desktop.)

EDIT: I lied.  It still does this shit.
