There was a player who complained of a problem loading their game on their ps3, that it just get stuck on loading screen and not continue. Well, i posted a quick fix in that person's thread but was the last reply on the page and people might have missed it, so, until a patch comes out, and without having to sign out of PSN in order to play the game, all you need to do is turn on your ps3 without the GTA IV disc in it, and then once you're signed in and the main screen is on, load the disc in, and let it load the game automatically without you having to click on it to start it. Let me know how that goes, because it worked for me and I'm able to play multilayer fine.

I guess it must be different for everyone, because it worked totally fine for me, and when I don't do that, it gets stuck on the loading screen.steelie34 wrote:

Well, sonce ive left my history and geography projects to today, and 2 other pieces of homework, i haven't even looked at my PS3. I got this problem for one whole day, left it and the next day (or day after) i cant remember, i tried it again and all of a sudden it worked and i didn't even sing out of PSN.
Well i didn't have any problems with multiplayer, only like on the first couple of days of its release... Nway we'll see with the patch.

I had it happen once or twice, signing out of PSN did it for me...
Come to think of it, it was at the same save point...and as soon as I reached another save point it would load fine.
