Take a picture of the inside of your PC - preferably so that all available slots are visible.
Its ok, i did mean that because i notice some cards are wider than others, i just hope it will fit. And the other point was, I was wondering whether the gfx card was SLI or not as usually the SLI cards are'nt powerful enough on there own, thats why i said i did'nt have 2 ports to spare.02fxnmaurer wrote:
i should hope so ...otherwise this pc is going to be a bit of a mish mashGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
GTS is dual slot in one way. It blocks access to the slot below even two it has only one connector. maybe he was thinking it like that?02fxnmaurer wrote:
u really dont know how it works,
2 cards = sli
1 card will never take up two pci slots
1 single gts will take up one slot
2 gts's ....in sli will take up two ...if u mobo is sli compatible
if u do mean this ....i apologize
an 8800gts is certainly powerful enough ...as long as its the g92 512 variant
forget about sli...
forget about sli...
To bring some order to this thread:
230v DOES NOT equal 230w.
An 8800GTS will work with your computer, but it is not guaranteed to fit into your case, if there is not enough space behind the card in the direction of the front of the computer.
By the sounds of it, your computer is an mATX one. We need pictures of the inside in order to make sure that a new PSU will fit in your case.
An 8800GTS will not work in a PCI slot; It will work in a PCI-E slot.
An 8800GTS will take up a slot under it, as well as the slot it attaches to. This is, however, just the cooler, so it will not require any connection to the motherboard from this slot, only an opening in the back.
Mentioned above does not equal SLi. SLi is when you link two cards togheter.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
