Hard-disk space, spec of your PC?

I have 250Gb free, run max grfx with 100+ fps, yet recording is done at 30fps, fraps or xfire. And that does drop if the action/server is more congested. So unless its the drop in fps you mean by "lag".... theres not much you can do about it short of getting a new PC.

Reduce the graphics quality before you start to play. Also make sure you defragment your HDD prior to playing..that should help a bit.

Open fraps and on the video tab there should be an option to choose a path to save the game to, select a folder on a different hard drive.

As xfire gets bigger and broader, this is becoming more and more of an issue.
I've had several people tell me they lag too much with xfire running.
I too have noticed some performance issues recently while xfire is up.
So I might have to agree.

Golden... if you don't have a different hard drive to record to,
try using a USB flash drive.... make sure it has at least 2 gigs on it.
You will probably need to transfer back to your hard drive periodically,
considering 2 gigs wont last long with uncompressed frap files.

To change where Xfire records videos to, go to Tools, Options, Video(beta), then hit browse. Perhaps create a folder called BF2 Vids. Again, i'd suggest lowering your video settings to help a bit.

Does that actually work? Ive never even thought of it as a potential issue.

Then again, my secondary is only 4Gb.

Yes, I used to lag greatly whilst recording fraps to my hard drive with bf2 on.

Since I've gotten a secondary hard drive for music/videos, I only notice a minor fps drop, but it's hard to notice, it is a great improvement.

Although its not that bad on my rig, it is definitly noticable. Might have to try that...and clear up my lil HD. 500Gb primary kinda beats it into the ground and is what I used to transfer all my old stuff to this PC, just never took it back out.

I dont see the logic in it though, as to why it would be faster...but hey, if it works, Im all for it
