Well im not definitely getting this.... but i need to sort one out so my dad can decide if he wants to pay for it or not...
what is this rig like? will it work or what?

it will be my first full build (i have put plent of stuff in etc but havent built one from scratch.)

suggestions appreciated but explain ur oppinion (not just LOL LOOK AT ....)

Go with Corsair ram instead of Patriot.
Go with the EVGA 8800GTS instead of the Gigabyte.
Go with ASUS instead of Gigabyte (Personal preference of mine).
You can easily find a better case for cheaper that looks a lot better.

These comments are assuming that there is a maximum amount of money that you can spend. What website is that? Those prices look incredibly high...

yer maximum price is around $2500 (AUD)

these prices might look very high to u...  because these are australian prices
also the site is of a computer store in my town... cuz my dad doesnt want to have to order heaps of different parts from different places etc (stupid i know)

I recommend gigabyte over asus to balance this thread.

Mushkin makes very good quality ram, too.

I would drop the DS3P for the L version, but keep it with gigabyte whatever you do if your getting a p35.
You dont need 850W even if you clocked everything in there into insane speeds.  700 would be more than enough

Rest I cant really fault, bar personal preference.

Yer i was thinking the PSU was overkill... but i thought i would start with over kill and see if my dad would buy it anyway if he did i might end up SLi 8800 GTS... but anyway

wats the difference between that and the L version?
