overkill, really worth it?

is it really wise to give up stopping power in favor of overkill? especially if you're using bandolier? i see alot of snipers whipping out AKs and shit, and i wonder if they would be better off with the deagle and stopping power...

Not in my opinion, unless you are a hideously-bad camping sniper sort that could utilize an SMG/short-range weapon to cover you.

In all other situations: swapping pistol for alternate weapon is good enough.

It's good for a sniper kit, as the p90 can beat any pistol any day, and snipers typically don't need the stopping power perk anyway.

It can also give a kit one short and one long ranged weapon for maps like crossfire, where having both comes in handy.

(and 4 rounds for the GL, if you swing that way)

I never use Overkill. Probably the most useless red perk in my opinion (even more useless than Juggernaut or Double Tap). I love the red perks the most, so I'd never give it up for having an extra primary, especially when I can easily...

The only time that I can see the usefulness of OK (OverKill) is in HC S&D where a SMG person want to carry a long range weapon at the same time to take advantage of his mobility and have a long range capability. In normal servers using overkill, in my opinion, inhibit in killing capability, because it is not hard to find a second weapon, unless you are one of those people who use over kill to carry two GL.

i see your point, but why would an SMG player want to engage someone with a long-range weapon in the first place?

You run faster get to your spot. SMG has mobility advantage compared to AR or SR class. So, get to the long range spot faster than the enemy, even just a second ahead of the enemy and camp the passage.

I figure I'll get an easy kill, then they whip out a big-ass machine gun and kill me.

I don't have it on my sniper kit, but I do switch my pistol for dropped guns when I feel the need to.
