i'll level with you. the only reason why you perceive this "sociological link" is because you were probably educated in public schools with DARE programs and came home to after school specials a couple times a week. ur parents were drugged with the same misinfo as they arrived home from work and sat down for their daily public service programming. you were probably socialized in a community that echos this same education and any number of other social-political epithets from TV land.mikkel wrote:

now you think it sounds crazy for anyone to deny the link between marijuana and other drugs, because you have lived your whole life categorizing them as fundamentally the same, because, as you were taught, they both "get you high." you even used the analogy, 'marijuana is to heroin like wine is to hard liquor.' like scorpion already explained, the association between weed and heroin is less significant than that between coffee and cocaine (both sociologically and pharmacologically). yet you are absolutely right that pot and hard drugs are sociologically linked. what you fail to realize is that any two topics can become "sociologically linked" when the most powerful propaganda force on earth insists upon presenting them together in the form of "educational broadcasts" almost daily and over the course of decades.
all this brings us to this thread and why people like ATG and scorpion are on here making posts. there are a bunch of state/corporate educated people that have been taught to arbitrarily associate pot with a bunch of dangerous and largely useless substances. because of the myriad benefits that the plant offers, and the substantial joy it brings to a large subset of society, many people have begun personally engaging the public in challenging the misinformation that was handed to them by the media. you can cling to your argument that pot and harder drugs and general depravity are inextricably "sociologically linked," but you need to realize that this link is merely a product of the force of centralized education and general media and the willingness of people such as yourself to repeat and propagate these associations as if they are your own thoughts.
lol, one of several good posts.Parker wrote:
its not hard to stay out of jail, you just need the money to pay it off.
last year i was picked up for having a dugout (smoking device and holder) with a small amount of weed in it (less than a gram).
now, i could have just told them where it was in the car, but it had been awhile since i was picked up, and i wanted to press my luck. the officer knew the game. he could smell it, he told me he could smell it and i just played dumb. didnt bug me, i had been in a lot worse situations, and wasnt really stressing if he would find it or not....more of a pain in the ass type thing.
so, anyway, he finds it and we have some laughs...like i said, he knew the game, and he knew i wasnt a threat. since i wanted to hide it, they took me in to process me. it took all of 45 minutes....30 in a holding cell and 15 to do paperwork shit.
got let go, went outside and smoked a cigarette with the arresting officer. not once did he talk to me like i had done a damn thing wrong, and in fact took one of my business cards. when i was done, i walked next door and got my car out of impound for $40 (money for the towing company).
went to court a month later, stood in front of the judge for literally 15 seconds. the prosecutor recommended $300 total fines, and the judge was just like "nah, $400."
i lol'd as i was writing the check.
it truly is an industry.
thats hilarious, so as long as its legal, you just blame the victim. i think youre going to need to be a little bit more critical than that. anyway, we're off-topic.Kmarion wrote:
Very few people are upside down (at least those who have been in there home for over five years). It also takes two people to sign a contract. Hate the banks if it makes you feel better, but they weren't doing anything illegal. Personal responsibility has been stripped out of this country. You'll get no sympathy from me for the people who are behind on their credit cards. Usually it's not necessity but luxury that prompts people to live on credit. Yea it may get tougher... but for the most part the wound is self inflicted.ATG wrote:
