I play ambush rather a lot, it's my favourite map. And in light of Funky Finny's contribution to this section (http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=98489), i decided, cup of tea in hand, to write a little guide to being useful on Ambush.
Basically, you can go about Ambush in one of two ways:
1.Go head on, and get lots of kills, but lots of deaths.
2.Use the sides, flank, and get lots of kills, and not so many deaths.
So, in a Blue Peter style, here's a map i made earlier :
In Funky Finny's style, Blue covers SAS/USMC, and Red covers Opfor/Spetznaz. And Black is my suggested route
At the start of the road, most teams run straight up the road, throw frags, flashes, stuns, small children etc, while snipers crack away at people running up the road.
In short, it all gets a bit messy.
So, in the "big sneak style", i find it beneficial to ones life expectancy, to go left (if starting as USMC) and go round the back. That way, if you survive you can a)kill people as they spawn, and b) headshot all the snipers that go to the middle roofs.
Now, your average opponent on-line is most likely a certified retard. So you can flank them till the cows come home, and they'll still go back to the same spots.
ALTERNATIVE STRATEGY - Go glitch in the Building near the tanks, and raep with a ACOG Barret and Stopping power.
So, short, sweet and shit, hope you find it useful!
