Font choice doesn't seem appropriate, maybe something less "playful/hippie-ish." Also, outerglow ftl. Overall the content feels disconnected, probably because there really isn't a background.

Well, I don't go for proprietary appropriate functionalities. I go for aesthetics. I don't care, not to mention it's essentially a waste of time, to make it 100% 'appropriate' as you put it, using trite papyrus or Greek text. The text is not 'Hippy-ish' and please explain why outer-glow is..."Not trendy". Not to mention, black is a background. Whoever taught otherwise hasn't a clue what they are talking about.
EDIT: Also explain how it feels, "disconnected".

Now before you get offended (although it may be too late) just remember I do this in an effort to explain my own opinion and mean no offense as I've always liked you.
The text doesn't need to be Greek to be appropriate, but I could see that text better suited for a concert poster than an Olympics one. The outer glow can be used effectively if done well, but using the default settings is rarely one of them. It often comes off as a lack of understanding of the program and can reflect the creators own lack of creativity to go beyond the programs default settings. So in most cases it is best to just play with the settings and go beyond the norm. And you are correct, black is a background but it doesn't work very well here. Like I said it makes each part of the sig look disconnected from the rest, like they are individual parts floating along for no reason. Just do something to pull it together; like a gradient or simple design.
If you want to get better (at anything) you're going to need to learn to take constructive criticism better.

7/10 for Tazz, kinda reminds me of mine. I'd ease up on the rounded edges though, or maybe push it further... and bring the moon in so it doesn't run off an edge, or enlarge it so it goes off both... but that's just being picky.
8/9, Omni. Very nice, I've always liked your sigs. The text seems a bit blurry, though, that's the only thing keeping it from a full 9.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Sorry if it came out like I was taking it the wrong way. Tired and I don't type as clear when it's 2 am. I just used Greek or Papyrus as an example (seeing as how the Olympics in my post). The outer glow wasn't a default setting. I never could get those to work like I wanted so I did it all manually. As you may recall, I use Photoshop Elements (not the greatest for this type of thing). I just decided to do black for the contrast in highlights and I couldn't really find a render or design that would fit what I needed. About the constructive criticism, I know thats what you are providing, again, I was just tired. What I just don't get is why Tazz has always been such a bitch to me about my sigs, and I say bitch because that's what he does; he doesn't provide positive feedback on how to improve.OmniDeath wrote:

EDIT: Also, to explain my sig from my view: I used a blue gradient on the text because, well for one I've never been a huge fan of warm colors, and two, it seemed to fit for some reason. Idk why. Also, the leafs on the sides were supposed to represent the Olympic traditional "wreath headband" used (can't remember the exact name for some reason). Also, the text its self is about the 2008 tour my orchestra is going on for 19 days in China and Korea for the Olympics.

6/9. It's ok, but it needs either centering or widthening (To 725px) to look good. Maybe replace the black with BF2s colour (56/56/56 R/G/B).
And I don't like sports

Ohh, thank you for the width of the forums. Idk why, but I was thinking it was just 700 for some reason.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Now I'd like rating too... I haven't been rated by anyone but Tazzenator for ages. Just because it's a text sig doesn't mean I don't wanna get rated, for the sake of sexual intercourse!xBlackPantherx wrote:
