Anybody know how to rectify this problem? I got a kosher version bf2, and I cant join any game online cos "Your CD is not valid" with every account I have. I cant afford hacks either so it's not a cd key ban.

Your CD-key is expired due to too many installations on it. E-mail EA and ask for a new one, they give them out like candy. I'm on my fourth, I think.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I've only ever installed twice on this comp, and once on my bros ages ago but we couldn't get it to patch. How long do EA take to reply with a cd key?

The same thing happened to my friend. He bought BF2 a few weeks ago at Best Buy for $10, and played it a few days on his laptop. The discs have been with him the whole time, and he swears he hasn't so much as thought about installing it on another computer. Yet when he tries to join a server it gives him that same error.

Usually under a week, but propably more now, because of the stats hackage.

Also do what other people say first. A neat tip is to just mail them saying that you lost your CD-key without telling it to them, that way they sometimes give you a new one without deactivating your old one, in case it starts to work.

Go to the folder where you installed BF, and then "Support", and start up Battlefield2_code.exe. Here you type in your CD-key, and press OK. It should now be fixed.

Backup your C:\Documents and Settings\[Your_Windows_Account]\My Documents\Battlefield 2 folder to preserve settings and screenshots.

I can confirm that this works.
(Note that if you start this program, enter nothing and exit, your CD key hash will be removed from the registry again.)

For SF it's ..\SupportXP1\Battlefield 2 Special Forces_code.exe.
