I am playing on TV servers and have an average ping of  65. However, judging  by the delay of animation the lag must be close to ping 1000 occasionally. For instance, I shoot an infantry from the tank cannon, I can see the explosion of the shell but the infantry keeps running. About full second after the explosion the infantry flies into air. Needless to say the lag makes aiming quite difficult. Any idea what might be the cause? Thank you!

I'm assuming he has an 8800GTS 320MB edition by the 320 in his post.

I have the same conditions playing wireless or not...... no change. Don't think it's that.

Sorry for the incomplete information. You guessed the video card right: it is Geoforce  8800 GTS 320 MB. I am connected to net by a cable modem. (In case it is somehow relevant: direct connection to TCP port 25 is forbidden, TCP ports 135 - 445 are closed according to the specifications of the service provider.) The speed of the connection is 4 Mbit/s download and 350 kbit/s upload.

What is psu? A power supply unit I guess. It is Fortron Blue Storm II 500W ATX 12V v2.2. (Just in case it may be somehow relevant I also have AC CPU cooler freezer 7 PRO)

Thank you for your time and answers!

No. Unless the first line signifies the pb check frequency. (AFTER the problem occurred, I tried pb_sleep500, pb_writecfg I have not noticed any difference)

95% of the games I play on TV servers, so it is hard to tell. Also the problem appears to surface only occasionally and often it is difficult to tell whether there is a lag. (For instance, when spraying and praying.) However,  I believe that the problem is global. Yesterday, for instance, I played on another server and was shot down by MG of a tank while lying prone behind a wall. That is, I popped out, saw the tank, went prone and then died bullets racing overhead.   Apparently the tank shot me when I was looking at it (I did not see bullet traces while looking).
