Thats whats my situation like: I played bf on friday, 7th of march.
on saturday, i got a new webcam, so i installed the driver for it. i also dated up punkbuster.
Now, since saturday evening, my computer restarts automatically when i start bf.
i reinstalled the video card driver (GeForce 7950GTX), i updated the mainboard driver (MSI K9NU)....i reinstalled bf twice and updated PB 10000 times.

what the hell is going on? I heard that more guys do have that problem since some days.....

any kind of help?

I just found out that it's the driver of the webcam that causes that trouble. if i deinstall it, everything works fine. do u have any ideas of how to get this going?

Hi, that sounds for USB-power-Problems. User USB-Hub with PowerSupply!
Disconnect webcam and any unneeded USB-Device while gaming.

(Look on the USB-issues because of cam :-)

To Punkbuster:
Look for "pbsetup.exe" in Folder C:\proggis\EA\BF2\PB"  start it.
Press Check for updates (mandatory)

Look for your game wether it is listed in PB. If not ADD it.
If YES remove it an re-ADD it (maybe, that helped me sometime ago)

for a clean driver-re-inst also look at my topic.

a friend of mine told me that it might work just to deactivate the webcam in the "hardwaremanager"...(dunno if thats the right word in english....) this is much better that deinstalling the driver for the cam each time i wanna play ...deactivating the cam takes about 15 seconds

thats the way it works now - quite happy with it

exactly....only the USB does not work (speaking english because i already got "warned" of speaking german in that forum )
