im making a promo video for my clan and at the start i would like to have my text appear on my screen in different ways i.e. falling from above or other fancy ways of appearing

anyone know how to do this in sony vegas 7.0d or any other kind of programs i can use?

What I do (which may not be the fastest way) is make the titles in photoshop then export them into vegas. Add the title to its own video track and use the "Track motion" to make it move around the screen.

but i would like something like every letter falling from the top of the screen one after the other not all at the same time

What if you use several text-layers? With like one letter each layer, might take some time though Guess you could do it in AE aswell

Use keyframes to make stuff move from point A to point B. So you select where you want it to start from, and then set a keyframe. Set where you want it to end, set a keyframe. It will fill in the blanks.
