But I want to retain the functionality of IE7. Do I have to go to the Plugin page and install the QuickTime, Flash, Windows Media Player, etc. so that I can view videos on the web??????

Also, does adding a theme to Firefox greatly reduce its speed?

I heard something about Firefox slowing your machine down more than IE7, is this true? If so, how do I make it faster????

Firefox is like sex for the first time. Leave IE7 and all it's plugins. Believe me, you'll have the same functionality as Explorer but much better.

Will I still be able to watch Flash videos on websites? YouTube?

And I use the iTunes Movie Previews page often enough, as well. I'll have to install the QT plug in from Mozilla's page, right?

I also play a Javascript game every now and again ... what about that?

it all works (in fact, it's usually faster, and leaves less temp files on your PC)

OK, but what about the QuickTime plug-in? Sorry, I edited my post.

i think you may have to reinstall the plug in but that takes 30seconds

A theme is not going to slow down your pc noticably, and it depends on the theme, how many files and images are in it. But that's a moot point really because the default theme that comes with Firfox is still a theme and works the exact same way as any other theme you can install.

If you're worried about memory footprint, I highly recommend FF3 Beta 4. Most extensions aren't updated yet, but all the plugins should work. And it's alot faster in pretty much every way (apart from startup, but after a few secs it's faster than ever).

Consider Opera as an internet Browser as well, its what I use.

Its all down to personal preference- try them both, it doesn't hurt

You can always run IE inside of FF if you have a problem (with the add-on). It's as easy as right clicking.

Yea, I've thought about Opera. I'm going to give Firefox a week and see how I like it.

Only reason IE7 has tabs is because earlier version of Firefox developed them first.
