That's totally weird. Still not my ToD.. Are you absolutely, extremely, totally, 100% sure the .bat file and the tods folder are in just the main Crysis folder? Else you might try to run it with admin privileges, and you can also try right clicking on the 'levels' folder, and unchecking 'Read-only' till the box is empty, and then running the batch file..
mission_mission0.xml is located in the level.pak files inside Crysis. The tod injector installs different mission_mission0.xml files in the level.pak files, the mission_mission0.xml files contain the Time of Day settings, so it injects and overwrites the default ones. When it can't find it this means it's in the wrong directory lol
Could you post a screenshot of your Crysis directory?

Hmm.. if you selected with backup only inject_tod_bak should be there. Delete inject_tod, run inject_tod_bak. If that doesn't work, run it as an administrator. If that doesn't work open the 'Game' folder. Then open select the 'levels' folder. Right click the 'levels' folder and tick the 'Read only (alleen lezen)' box till it is empty (grey). then run inject_tod_bak again, perhaps with admin.
Alpha, Im pretty sure those first ones are the XToD and the second ones are reg Crysis. I think..
The new 1.3v2 Low has more lag, and now even looks worse. My assault scope is unusable too.
You guys might be experiencing the patch 1.2 effect. I've noticed an overall drop in performance since patching to 1.2. I am thinking about cleaning and going back to patch 1.1, since I don't play multiplayer mode - at all. Since I've modded the game - Punkbuster says that's a no-no = kick/ban. The game plays OK for the first 15-30 minutes then performance degrades. This only happened at specific points before - which saving, exiting the game, reload saved game - worked every time. It seems to happen far more often since patching to 1.2.
There is a relationship of (in your .cfg files):
HDR to GLOW that needs to be properly set.
And shadow-cache to shadow map resolutions must be set correctly in relation to each other.
Improperly setting SSAO and terrain-SSAO can create ambient bloom-glow on the exterior of entities.
Also T.O.D. settings DO NOT AFFECT performance, only the look of the lighting, HDR lighting and density of fog, film grain, etc.
If you were/are experiencing graphical glitches and/or crashing with saved games it's due to the .xml data in the saved game file. I am constantly modding my single player campaign and every time I do the resulting modifications (adding AI, altering the map, adding new objectives, guns, making the AI more difficult, tweaking, etc) result in a change in total & type of .xml game-data. Since patch 1.2 the data that can be saved/contained in the saved-game .xml file has changed. Sometimes you just have to delete those (the ones that make your game crash) - I do - oh well.

Yea it's pretty much a patch 1.2 issue on most points.. My advice is once again defrag first, as 1.2 makes things heavily fragmented.
Alpha: I'll try to help you out later, I don't have much time now.. From what I can tell tho the batch console looks for the wrong path, C:\Windows\System32\mission_mission0.xml, which leads me to the fact it just launches a regular console improperly somehow. Try a reinstall of XConfig and get back to me then I'll try to help you in more detail.
topal: on most points you're right, but I don't see how I set the SSAO settings wrong? The shadow-cache to shadow map resolutions are set properly in every config other than low, because on low, I had to rush out to quick fix it after I broke it myself.. Done too little testing with it. Which means I removed shadows for the time being as I couldn't get the right performance settings in such little time..
What does this all mean: version 1.4 is on the way lol.
~ HDR will be fixed
~ Low shadows will return, tweaked and optimized
~ Low and medium config will have improved performance (like in XCFG 1.2 )
~ I'll have a look into the SSAO settings
~ Revamped ToD
More changes can be found on the main page.

thats great. I'm on medium and would love even more fps. I'm on a 7600gt but your tweaks really helped, so if it gets even better
I don't have a clue on what to do, so I am all yours.xGj wrote:

Did you reinstall XConfig yet Alpha?
You can uninstall it through the start menu and control panel though. Hmm.. I seriously wonder why you get that, seems like it can't find the right path although it's in the right directory. It tries to find the files in C:\Windows.. Could you right click on inject_tod_bak.bat and click edit, then show me a screenie/post the text in there on here?

Everything looks just fine.. There's something wrong with your command prompt I guess.. I have no idea what happens.
You might wanna wait for 1.4, will have a new injection method.

Oh noes, you are bringing back shadows to low config. Well..as long as it gives me a steady 30 FPS then its fine
Yea once optimized that isn't that much of a performance hit. I just screwed up low in 1.3.. mainly because I don't have a computer to test it on. I have one high end system, and one system so crap I won't even bother inserting the Crysis disk in it.. that one has a 6600GT can you imagine lol.
How? What are the specs?TheAussieReaper wrote:

6600GT....aaaaawh the horror.xGj wrote:

Ya, aussiereaper how can you use the medium config and still get decent FPS on a 7600GT do you have like a QX9650 CPU or something?
Really funny to see people with similar systems and such different performance
I don't know yet, it's gonna take a little while I'm sorry.. Life has caught up on me, I'm in the process of moving house and have to do a lot of other stuff.. I'll try to get it out as soon and good as possible though.
EDIT
New download link added, Crymod.com has posted this on their news and put it in their database.

Well, XGj, I realise you've got enough people with problems, but when I use "low" settings, I get 10-15 FPS. Sure, it looks great, but it's too slow.
I think you should make a lowER spec config, just for me xD
