That sucks, didn't happen to me though. Anyone else having problems in Low, like me? (Besides the above posters.)LaidBackNinja wrote:
Aw, crap. I've got a problem. I tried to load an earlier savegame, but the same thing happened. So I figured this config must have corrupted my savegames somehow, no problem. I started over from the beginning and everything was fine. Until I reached the "assault" level. I got the same crash to desktop at 100% during loading. I tried loading other saves and stuff, and I discovered I cannot load any level later than "assault" (assault included). This is new with this config, as I was already further in the game before I installed it.
Looks awesome and with 30 to 40 fps. (no bullshit) 1024x1280 res with 16AF + 2xAF
Glad to have helped you, looks sweet. Is that with my ToD mod?

No that's either patch 1.1 or patch 1.2's fault. It happens a lot as I saw on the inCrysis forums, I'm sorry.LaidBackNinja wrote:

Well I'm fixing the shadows at the moment. If you ran better with 1.2 that's fine, but 1.3 is more optimized and you can just turn off the low shadows by editing e_Shadows = 1 to e_Shadows = 0. I'm sorry software comes with bugs and this is no exception, I'm working very hard to fix all things and shadows shouldn't be that much of a perf drop.RDMC wrote:
I am sorry but the 1.3 config on low sucks donkey balls. First off you say its fro 76xx series cards, yet you put in shadows etc. Its barely playable on low. Also as mentioned above the shadows suck and weird glitches appear. I am sorry to say but the 1.2 low config was a million times better than this. No offense buts its the truth.

Status update:
Version 1.3 fix #2 changelog so far:
~ Removed shadows from low config
~ Fixed sky showing as a box and being ugly on low config
~ Fixed wrong color of water on low config
I'm gonna test more onthe ice levels right now, but I've found a solution which speeds up the game pretty well. Since patch 1.2, the level.pak files of Crysis have became very fragmented (level.pak files are files needed to run a level). I've looked at this thread: http://incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20025 on the inCrysis forums, and that lead me to getting JkDefrag: http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/ which is really fast for defragmenting I'm doing it right now as we speak. If you are getting lower performance than other people with my config try this out.

Are you sure? Because everything worked just fine before I installed this config. (I already had patch 1.2)xGj wrote:

That also reminds me.... after installing patch 1.2 all the rear wheels disappeared on the jeeps... but when I installed your config they came back. 1.2 does do some strange things.

Yea.. that's a patch's issue. 1.2 isn't that stable, and the rear wheels missing is also a very common problem. Glad to hear my config has somehow fixed that though, but the savegame/load issue isn't my config's fault.
Also I have done some testing with the ice levels, and with sphere, and I totally not get why you guys all get worse framerates there with similar specs to mine. I get 30 fps there lol.. but I do agree sphere is a bit stuttery.. Even my config is bound to the hardware limits of Crysis ofcourse.. Can't do magic but I can improve.
Like I said in an earlier post get JkDefrag. 1.2 patch's files are heavily fragmented and can cause slowness and stuttering.

Could you point me to a thread where they discuss my problem? Because if it isn't your config, then I don't have the first clue on how to solve the problemxGj wrote:

LaidbackNinja I'll look something up for ya but I just remembered it was patch 1.1 that had savegame issues. You sure you run 1.2? Else reinstall the game, then patch 1.2 (1.1 not needed)

http://incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=19457
It's just a matter of repair install, or complete reinstall like I described above

Yes, I'm 100% sure I run 1.2. The problem isn't really about loading savegames, it's about loading the level "Assault" or anything after that. IT also crashed when I completed the previous mission and it loaded the next one. (So not just savegames.)xGj wrote:

I can't really install Crysis again because the disk is over at my parents house. I'll have to wait until the weekend before I can get it.

Oh I see. Try in your console map harbor and see if it still crashes then. If it doesn't, it's a savegame issue, if it does, your install is probs corrupt.
For some reason that workedxGj wrote:

I understand there will be bugs/problems with software, just pointing it out No hard feelings, just downloaded the 1.3 #2. (at least I think I did) Gonna give it a try now and let you know about any problems or improvementsxGj wrote:

EDIT: Yeah removing the shadows didnt made much of a difference after all. I still get 15ish FPS and I think it is because you are trying to use medium shaders, which quiet frankly won't work on a 7600GT. (If you do not then ignore this) and the objects are all very vague (probably set to low as well). So yeah the 1.3 low config doesnt quiet work as good as the 1.2 config which is too bad. Even though not to completely rip it off, when setting is manually to low it does give somewhat of a performance boost.

You mean high ingame or my high version? If it's mine then yes it looks fine That is the default ToD tho, not XToD.^*AlphA*^ wrote:

And RDMC I see. This was pretty much a quick fix version, 1.4 will be improved a lot, also in terms of low. Really weird that people do get different performance on the same configs with the same rigs. Thought low was fine, but I was wrong I'll improve a lot on it.
In the installer, select your config of preference. On the next step, you select Install XToD, with or without backup. I reccomend with backup. You let the installer finish and click it away. Once the installer closes it will open a window, run the inject_tod.bat (or inject_tod_bak.bat) and it will install. I thought you already did that by the way.
I did that yes... then the XToD isn't workingxGj wrote:

I ran the installer (which goes very fast btw) it says it installed it succesfully then I should run the inject_tod_bak.bat (because I select with back up) I get a console, which does something and it done in 1/2 seconds...
then I get what I posted above (screens)
Ya might be different CPU's though, I am still using a single core 3800+ Anyway, good luck on 1.4xGj wrote:

But.. You said in a few posts before these that it was in x86 program files etc. those different directories, if the cmd prompt batch thing goes very fast it's in the wrong folder. Try the other one.^*AlphA*^ wrote:

And RDMC I'm gonna optimize for single core use in the next version. Did some threading commands wrong etc. in this one.
it goes the same speed in both,xGj wrote:

think I'll just reinstall.
how fast should it go? minutes?
Nah one minute at most, but not lightning speed lol. A clean reinstall is a good idea. Clean reinstall (in only one directory) > Patch 1.2 (you can skip 1.1) > XConfig + ToD in your Crysis main folder (through the installer), just program files not pf x86. And then execute the batch, should work
hmm now it looks like this:
before:
I have no clue whats what anymore, and if this isn't what it should be, then I give up..
- Reinstalled Crysis
- Got one Crysis Folder now
- Ran the Installer
- Selected install XToD With Back Up
- Ran .bat (because of back up, according to OP post)
- Done
- Played
- Took Screen (posted above, first one)
