Holy fucking crap.

I just tried this thing out, and FUCK ME IT'S LIKE I'M PLAYING A GAME FROM THE FUTURE.

It looks NOTHING LIKE Crysis on "normal" 'high'.  It looks fucking amazing. I'm playing the "very high" preset you made on the following system:
AMD Dual Core 4200+
2 gigs ram
(single) 8800 GT 512 (slightly overclocked).

And the game is ACTUALLY PLAYABLE.
Before this config, the game was also playable, but only on vanilla "high". This looks fucking amazing.
For some reason though, AA on 2x is fine, but as soon as I put it on 4x, I get about 2 FPS. Weird. (1280x1024)

I just took these two screens:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/ … iswow8.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/ … iswow5.jpg
I think I just came.

Downloading it now, and thanks for the quick fix about the water.

Edit - I selected Low with ToD, and it apparently installed Ultra High/Very High/High, raped my computer to shreds. Less than 0.1 FPS.

Thanks guys for the warm comments. But alexbay are you sure it installed a high config level? I gotta look into this but I haven't encountered that.. Gonna check right now.
Btw 2XAA is fine, but try playing without AA. This config enforces a different method of anti aliasing, called edge anti aliasing, which isn't that much of a performance hit and also looks nice. Try disabling AA in your crysis settings, and then playing. If you get jagged edges just play with 2XAA again
EDIT
Alexbay you were right, I bugged up the installer on the low config. A fixed version will be uploaded in two minutes, STAY TUNED

Everything looks nicer, like HDR is enabled or on a higer setting but my framerates drop to 0 FPS. Is that normal? I'm just our of sphere. I had constant 30-40 FPS on high before.
Could you post a screenshot of where exactly that happens? And your system specs and config level would be nice too.

I've past that scene. Its where the biggest alien attacks an outpost and then when an evac chopper rescues the female scientist. Next mission is in the chopper.

My specs: E8400@3000, 2gb ram, 8800GT512

Resolution is 1400x1050

NEW VERSION UPLOADED. Fixed version 1.3, installer now works with low-end config and ToD packages aswell.
Head over to the main post for a download link
Also I'll see what I can do for you guys, Sup and alexbay. Gonna have to do some testing but I never encountered an fps drop in there. Could do a defragment etc. of your HDD but I'll look into it.

Just want to thank you again. Looking at the screens I posted last night, I can hardly believe those were taken on MY machine with a modest processor and just a single 8800 GT 512. Even though I must say the 8800 GT is a real beast, I could barely play crysis on medium with my old card (7900 GT).

One question though, you said this config enforces its own method of AA, and indeed when I turn AA off in the menu it still looks very nice, however I was wondering if there is a way to "increase" the AA your config enforces? Because I do get some jagged edges, and my pc implodes when I try to set AA to 4x.

No I'm afraid not Crysis offers a different mode of Anti-Aliasing, which is called Edge Anti-Aliasing which I use in my config because it does work like AA and doesn't slow your system down so much. But this also means it may be less performing than regular AA. Regular AA in Crysis is heavily unoptimized though so I guess this is the only best solution for the moment.
EdgeAA (if I remember this correctly) just replaces the edges with very small transparent textures, which give a slightly less result, but my advice to you is just keep normal AA off so that you get good performance and good image quality. I can't do anything else about it at the moment, sorry

Did you select install XToD with backup (or without?). And what level of config did you select? Also make sure you selected the main Crysis folder, no subfolders. Did you run inject_tod.bat or inject_tod_bak.bat after installation? Don't you see a performance improve?
Did you wait for the injection bat file to complete? It can take a while. Don't click it away too early.
If you can give me these details I can help you out better

I've installed the without backup, so I ran the inject_tod.bat

I've selected High Performance, got a single 8800GTX (no SLi etc)

I've played Crysis on High (all) 4x AA before, no I didn't see a improvement no.. (not yet )

Hmm I suppose you could run Very High too but High looks nice aswell. Anyway did you wait for the inject_tod.bat to process fully? And was it in the main Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis directory?

Hmm.. that's generally not good when it goes so fast. It didn't modify anything you say? Uninstall XConfig (theres an uninstaller located in your start programs or control panel), reinstall it and make sure it's the main Crysis directory, cause if it isn't it's likely to go very fast through the files and not find the right destination files. If that doesnt work reinstall but this time choose with backup and then try again.

might know whats wrong, I got 2 program files (because of 64bit) and 2 Crysis folders, one in each (dunno why) I ran it in one, suppose I need the other.

You mean you placed it in either bin32 or bin64? Install directory should be just ...\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis. Regardless of 32 bit and 64 bit, because the level and configuration files are in different subfolders in the main Crysis directory, this means they are free from 32 or 64 bit restrictions if you get what I mean. So just reinstall in ...\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis and run the batch from there.

no I have Program Files & Program Files (x86),

I got a whole crysis folder in both (well the x86 one is bigger) so I did it in that, seemed to work, looks awesome dude, would have posted a pic but paint is bitching atm.

bit laggy on very high,

my system:

4GB RAM
8800GTX

Glad you like it You can always just use high if it's too much on Very High, or scale down the resolution, I play very high on 1280x1024 with a setup like yours Have fun with it.

How can my system possibly outperform yours (I've only got 2 gigs RAM, AMD Dual Core 4200+ and 8800 GT).
What resolution do you run? I run at 1280x1024. (very high)

So, Alpha, just try with AA in your game off. And try how it looks, else just get 2XAA again. 4XAA on 1650x1080 is pretty overkill.
