I hate all the bunny hopping. I've seen it in other games, and its just lame. But I do feel you should be able to jump out of the way of a truck or missile coming at you. I came up with the following:

Jumping: Limit players to say 1 jump every 5 - 10 seconds. I think this is realistic and wont limit the practical uses of jumping. Maybe also make it so if your stamina bar is zero you can't jump.

Reloading: You won't be able to reload your weapon while running or jumping. Maybe even make it take longer to reload while you're walking. I think this is also more realistic, and avoid the whole: empty my clip, then dance around till I reload and empty it again strategy.

Bunny hopping has become a part of the game now and i dont think that ea from a marketing point of view is going to rip it out. Besides, would u really want BF2 to become uber super ultra happy realistic? I wouldn't (mainly cos im not 1337 enough to last if it did).

lets see... yeah... how about you should be able to press the dam c4 button when u r running?!?!?!  Or you should not be able to do that stupid prong jump... that is stupid..  Or at least no be able to shoot or reload when doing it.

There was some other game i played i think several games do it.
however they have like an energy bar for sprinting and jumping, and jumping takes a chunk out of the bar so u can only do it 2/3 times b4 you had to wait for the bar to recharge.
if bf2 had something like that itd stop bunny hoppers cause they just wouldent be able to jump so much in one go

Well there already is a restriction on what you can do.  jumping does take way more then just sprinting from your stamina.  but you can let it charge up like 4 bars then then jump again (with sprint).  Personally i think that is fine.   It should be more dependent on what weapon is at hand..  holding a knife, pistol, c4/c4 detonator, frags you should be able to run MUCH faster, and longer.  And when holding your main gun run slower/for less time.  ESPECIALLy for support, AT, and Assault w/GL'er (not with g3!).

It is just the prone jump that is so horrible.  I dont really seem to have problems killing the jumpers.  Just the Prone jumpers!!

Stamina should not be depleted depending on weapon being held. This would make it like CS in which you can run faster with a knife. This is silly for the simple fact that you are still wearing all your gear. Why would you suddenly weigh less if you had one weapon out over another? You wouldn't. As for the jumping issue, it may be a pain in the ass but it simply makes them less able to deal with other issues when they arise. They bunnyhop and then are not able to sprint anywhere since they are depleted of stamina. Bunny hoppers don't effect me very much anymore because I have learned to combat it. Simply go prone and track them going up and down. Killing them isn't an issue any longer. Skill in firing overcomes silly human tricks most of the time.

It is not about how much weight you are carring.  It is what is in your hands.  You can run with a back pack on your back faster then if you had it in your hands.  It is pyhsical balance issues.  You would be front heavy if you are carring a heavy weapon.. It is much easier to run with something on your back rather then in your hands, not to mention it is less tiring.  Which is why they desinged backpacks, sattlebags, seabags, sholder straps, holsters etc. etc. Understand?

But yeah i agree, i have gotten used to killing the bunny hoppers now.  As you said, prone and own.
