Hey all,

I fired up Battlefield 2 today and connected to a server, all fine and whatnot, but about 5 seconds after I was all connected and clicked on Join Game, I was booted from (every) server I tried with an error message telling me that Punk Buster couldn't connect to "PnkBstrA.exe."  Everything was fine about 2 hours ago, and rebooting has not solved the problem.  What can I do to fix this?

Hi, try this:

1. Manually update your punkbuster using pbsetup.exe

2. Download pbsvc.exe from PB.

3. Run it, select the uninstall option.

4. Run it again, select the install option.

5. Reboot if you want, just in case. I didn't and it worked fine for me.

Then try a round. Let us know how it goes.

Awesome! Updating didn't do it, but reinstalling PunkBuster did.  Thanks for your help!

Another Software help from EvenBalance (PunkBuster) website is PBsetup.

(this link is the download page not actual download.)

This allows user to manually check for updates, quite the nice little program.
Pick your game and it will search for updates for you.

Lol, its not wasting time if you missed it mate. Any help people get here im sure they appreciate it.
