BF2S Forums Anyone ever been to Gigantour?

Normally you get like 45 min to an hour for the support acts and about 1.5 hours for the headliner at shows like that.
But that´s just a rule of thumb.
I saw Maiden with Megadeth in 99` as a supporting act and they played about 1 hour or so.

The other bands get a very decent amount of stage time, and you definitely don't want to miss Laiho in all his guitarheroawesomeness. My guess is that In Flames will play somewhere around 60-70 minutes, as will COB. Megadeth probably 90 minutes or so. The other bands will get a 40 minute slot, methinks.

Those are my guesses. The problem with this kind of guessing is that I've been so preoccupied listening to the bands, that I never really look at the time.

Ha ha, yeah that last line is true. Well I do like In Flames, I've heard a bit of COB and they seem good (a bit hardcore for me but regardless), and from what I heard on the Gigantour site, the other 2 bands seem ok.

I just wanna go with someone, I've got two friends who both like Megadeth

To be quite honest, I found Megadeth to be a bit.. ..overrated. Sure, it was cool to see Mustaine play, but still.. ..the band is inadvertedly seen as "the poor man's Metallica". I had my hopes up, but somehow I didn't get the "this is so cool!"-feeling from Dave. They're still great, don't get me wrong.

COB is awesome live. I'm not saying that just because they're Finnish And In Flames just rocks your socks off live. Just hope they play "Trigger" and "Reroute to Remain". Gothenburgmetal ftw!

Mustaine needs to rework his singing voice for his earlier work. He's 20 years older now... like hell he's gonna be able to sing Tornado of Souls properly. He sounds great on his new stuff (e.g. Gears of War, Burnt Ice)... he should just adapt that singing style for other songs. Hetfield did it with Metallica (bit more of a hard rock style instead of his pissed off deep metal voice) and they seem fine at their shows.

I also find it hard to compare the two Personally, Rust in Peace is just... different from Master of Puppets. Different sound, different vocals, but badass all the way.

Should I wear ear protection? (I've already got a bit of ringing in my right ear)

@HellHead, you should check out some of their live vids on YouTube (like Rock Am Ring 2006), they know the fans like their old stuff and they mostly play that... and it sounds pretty good for being 20 years older

For the earplugs : I never wear earplugs, never did in my 13 years of metal shows and my hearing is still good as back than.
But if you all ready suffer from a light Tinnitus, you should go for it.
