Don't get me wrong, I love mecha anime like Gundam but when like a quarter of the high school is into anime and like reading mange during class, writing japanese phrases and trying to speak some. It gets really annoying.
My friends brother is in High School and plays Yu-Gi-Oh. It's really gay.

A few of my mates are into Anime in a big way. I've tried hitting it out of them but it dosn't work. They're eighteen, and going on to University this year, so I think it's time to ditch the Anime habit. They used to sit at lunchtimes and trade anime DVDs, which I though tooked more pornographic each day. these were guys trading DVDs that were pink and had pictures of little girls or bunny wabbits or something on them, (sometimes,) so I couldn't really see the want for this kind of thing, or the want to project thqat kind of image.
They're not into Yu Gi Oh or Beyblade or whatever the fuck those product-hawking shows are called, but these weirder 'cult' type ones, the only name I could remember, "Ghost in the Shell" because it made absoloutly no sense whatsoever, and didn't relate to the content at all, (I did watch on just so I could say, "Okay, so I've seen it, and I still think it's crap.")
There was some comedy stuff too that I thought I'd have a look at. Aparently it was hilarious, but I thought it was just stupid.
I hate the anime cult. 18+ year olds swapping and talking about japaneese cartoon shows. If they have some deep meaning it's a fucking crap way to put it out to people.
Anyway, I've decided to give up on openly persueding my friends to give up on the pursuit for cartoony philosophies. Now I think I'll just give them a short sharp punch every time I hear about Anime.

Try telling this shit to the Japanese, you get 30+ year olds watching stuff like Ghost in The Shell. Seriously though, the way live action movies are going, with poor story and acting but high budgets, Anime' is become an easy to access alternative, if gaming isn't for kids, then why can't Anime'? I'm pretty sure there is a quite a large amount of anime' that isn't intended for people under 13 (no, not porn O_o), you people are just reveling in your own ignorance saying it's "gay" over one observation. Watching anime is fine. The problem is the obsessive nature and behavior that kids (10-16 years of age) handle themselves.
As for card games in general, specifically the Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, etc ... this are oversensationalized ways to market your product.
If EA had a BF2 Card Game, there is a def. chance that people will buy and play. Imagine two 23-40 year old men at work and pull out their army deck. Filled with modifiers to increase their ranks and allow them their weapon unlocks for better stats ... lol. Actually I can easily see this being a real card game. And it would sell like madness.
Back to the point at hand, like many things, it is a craze, a fetish, a pasttime. Entertain the masses and create the mindless.

Errrm what kind of anime have you people actually seen apart from shit such as Pokemon, GBZ or Yu-gi-oh... they are kids anime, if you want good anime watch stuff like Hellsing (meh sig), FullMetal Alchemist or if you like a bit of extreme gore try GANTZ or Elfen Lied.

i like anime, don't get me wrong. i watch hellsing, gundam, bebop but i don't bring manga everyday cosplaying everyday to school. i forget how many ppl are in our school but its an average side and about a quarter are anime lovers maybe a lil less
I liked the old stuff, subtitled in english , usually space wars with aliens. I just found it so refreshing that people would actually die, instead of the gi joe million lazers & bullets around you yet no one even got nicked.
