I wanted to edit a .gif file, but for some reason all my colours are screwed up. The cursor colour doesn't match with the colour I click on in the colours bar.

But they're only screwed up on that file, IE: My light grey is a skintone for the .gif, but it's the proper light grey on a blank canvas.

I'm stumped, as this hasn't happened to me before and there's nothing in the troubleshooter either.

... try a different .gif?

Or, just convert, then edit?

I can only get the image from one source (I can't find it anywhere else) and I converted it to .png, but the problem persists.

Select all > Ctrl C > Reopen Paint > Ctrl V worked better, because the whole thing won't fin onscreen.

Hooray, problem solved.
