Favre was the man...i will never forget him for the interception in OT vs the Giants which led to the winning field goal that sent the Giants to the Superbowl XLII.

...yea im a Giants fan.

but seriously,  He was an amazing quarterback and person.  True old school and will be missed.  I like him alot..and was/am still impressed on how hard he can still throw after 17 yrs in the NFL and his age.

...Brett will be missed and so will his retirement rumors at the end of each season.

Thanks for the memories, Brett.  You are and always will be ... the man.

I'm no football fan, but this sucks, even I know that greenbay is gonna mourn this.  sadly was bound to happen sooner or later.
Brett was/is cool and one hell of a QB.

One of the best of all time.

His on field actions were like a linebacker playing QB always sticking up for his teamates never backing down from the defense and head butting them right back.

Great leader, NFL player, family man.

I wish him all the best in his new found retirement.

Sad to see such a good QB go.

His final season was good, too bad the Packers could not make it to the Super Bowl.

I see Hall of Fame in the future.

too bad he couldn't go out with a Superbowl win, but a 13-3 season ain't bad either.

This makes me even more mad now that it wasn't a Pats/Packers superbowl showdown. Brady vs Favre in what would be his last game. That would've been epic. But yea, it is too bad to see a great QB like Brett retire. Maybe, he'll get a management position with the Packers though?

Cue inspirational music.

Brett Favre was an American, a partiot, and a true hero.  He once defeated an entire flock of ninjas, and built the Statue of Liberty using only his teeth.  He hardly ever ate a puppy or kicked a hobo.  You may have played quarterback Brett, but you sacked America's heart like a 330 pound linebacker.  Long live #4.

By the way, I can't be bothered to research these facts, but I'm pretty sure this is accurate.

I think its safe to say he will be in the Hall of Fame!!

As a Forty Niner fan I hate his ass!! lol!

But as a football fan I respect him, his game, and the way he conducted himself on and off the field! The NFL has lost a truely superb guy/player! I hope he enjoys his retirement, its got to be tough on his wife watching him almost get killed every Sunday.

Damn!

Great guy...but I know why he did it. To be closer to his family. He's a good guy with good morals. We'll miss ya, Brett.

That sucks that his last pass in the NFL was an interception (he deserved better than that) but he had a great run. Good bye Brett and may someone just as good take your place.

Yep. Hopefully GB signs someone who doesn't suck. Or at least sucks less.
