Well people still play CoD1 & FarCry. I installed battlefield vietnam the other day and theres still full servers about there. So i think it will be going for along time to come. Even if bf3 is alot better.

Games never die, true gamers play the game as long as they can. Some people take gaming like a trend.
I agree with most of what you said except one thing. Im not giving EA another $50 USD for BF3. i was there when Bf2 came out and i ran away from the game. if you do your research, most of the good people that play the game when it came out dont anymore.RoosterCantrell wrote:

Stop asking "WHEN WILL BF2/BF2142 DIE" The answer is, never. This is a fun game, and chances are that it will live on for years and years to come. Hell, look at Battlefield Vietnam and Battlefield 1942. Sure, they're not exactly filled up with hundreds of full servers, but they still have 10-20 (Perhaps 1942 has more) good servers playing, and you can still always find a game.
Day of Defeat? Still has probably arounnd 100 servers playing
Counter Strike 1.6? Tons
I'll admit that 2142 is falling from grace a little bit faster than BF2, but it's still doing fine.
I believe that as long as EA keeps their stats feed going, the game will still be played a large amount. If they are honestly such greedy asspigs that they'll shut down the stats service...well, then BF2 will probably take a very very large hit in popularity.
