Under and Alone (William Queen) If you haven't read it, you suck at life and must read it to redeem yourself. AN AWESOME AWESOME book.

Any Hunter S. Thompson

Mind over Matters (Mike Nelson, of MST3000)

Brave New World (Aldous Huxley)

how about you BF2s?

Note: I think a few book threads exist, couldn't find any that were relevant, searched and googled searched.

The Neanderthal Parallax Series by Robert J. Sawyer

Great series that uses new technology and quantum physics with a really really good storyline.  It also makes you really think about moral questions that you've never considered before.

I don't read books, but I do read scriptures as often as I can.

By the way, this thread is a DUPE!

...which is also a dupe of similar threads.

There's no possible way I can list everything without throwing my day away, so I'll give a few pulp examples:

Piers Anthony: Xanth series (first book in the series to be filmed), Hard Sell, Bio of a Space Tyrant series
Robert T. Bakker: Raptor Red
Gordon R. Dickson: Dragon Knight series
Alan Dean Foster: Spellsinger series, The Damned series
Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett: Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (authors hope to be filmed)
Sandy Mitchell: Ciaphas Cain series (WH40K)

Carl Sagan - Cosmos, Demon Haunted World
Johann Von Goethe - Faust, The Sorrows of Young Werther (THE original emo)
Harper Lee - To Kill a Mockingbird
John Knowles - A Separate Peace
Albert Camus - The Myth of Sisyphus, The Stranger
Henry David Thoreau - Walden
Khalil Gibran - The Prophet
Richard Dawkins - The God Delusion
Chuck Palaniuk - Choke
Howard Zinn - A People's History of the United States
Eric Schlosser - Reefer Madness

I'm 100% sure I'm forgetting many.

Favorite authors (in no particular order) are Camus, Sagan, Thoreau, Goethe

I'll probably add to the list.  I am currently looking for a new read.  Preferably philosophy, but open to suggestions.

ditto. I've spend 3500CHF on textbooks this year. Damn them for revising the law all the time. I don't want the same book in 3 slightly versions on my desk
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Well, I searched, and IMO, the "search" function on BF2s blows (sorry chuy).  When I need to find a thread here, google works better.

I tried "books" "favorite books" and "authors"  and came up with pages and pages of unrelated crap.

So, rather than search for hours, I just asked outright. Plus, the thread you posted isn't even spelled right, making searching for it even harder.

oh well. I still stand by this thread.  It was kinda a way of asking for book recommendations anyway.

And it's nine months old, which would make a revival a blatant act of thread necromancy.
