We definitely had a few lessons on the slaughter of native Americans in our history class, along with the questionable rhetoric behind the war of 1812, the Spanish American war, and the eventual war in the Philippines. 

We also look at the German and Japanese sides of WWII (especially how you got f**cked over by the treaty of Versailles).

Of course, that was my personal experience with education, I'm sure a lot of other schools aren't quite so revisionist in their curriculum.

I think it's none of my business how Germany handles its internal governing. As long as they are free to vote, and come to some kind of collective decision, I don't care if they all work 4 hour days and sing Kumbayah the rest of the day. Actually, as long as they don't fuck with me or kill people I don't even care if they let the Nazi party come back. So long as they don't get violent I guess they ought to have the right to speak their minds.

By the way, cool fact of the day: There's an ad at the bottom of my page for a book by Barton Biggs called "Wealth, War, and Wisdom". I once had a breakfast meeting scheduled with him in New York at the Morgan Stanley headquarters (across the street from my hotel), and stood him up because I stayed out partying the night before til 6 a.m. and slept through the alarm, hung over.

One thing a lot of you don't take into account is that Hitler was actually exactly Germany needed to get out of the depression (except for the whole crazy part). Money was worth nothing, and they were low on hope. Next time think about how you punish people...
