Anime is just a form of media.. Its a tad better than most television and It helps my Japanese so I watch it. People shouldn't hate it or obsess over it.

Well i admit do like some anime's(Evangelion and Gundam Wing) but not most. Because it's just the same ol character types over and over again, Quiet, Loud, Obnoxious, Emo, Guy, and Shy, Depressed, "Innocent" girl. And it just plays into the lonely otaku's fantasies.(Girl from space, Girl who doesn't know her name, Girl whos lost, Etc etc.)

Because they aren't creative enough to make a non-archetypal character.

The anime I posted (haruhi suzumiya) is sort of like that but they do it in a different way which makes it good. In that anime none of the characters are all begging to be sex'd by the main character which is really out of the norm. they do, however, have more complex lives that play into the story but the only way to pick up on those elements is to listen to what they are saying by word of mouth.

Other than that I just like the slice of life animes along with the romance types because they aren't just serving to the ADHD fans who want an action scene involving retarded 'ninja' in every episode (naruto,bleach, ect)
