Anyone want to clarify this thread for me?

Okay, this may not answer your question, but I'll try. In SF, you get two unlocks for each rank you achieve past Sergeant. You are a First/Master Sergeant, so you will be given when you first get into SF, FOUR new unlocks. You will be able to chose any unlock you want, provided you have the first tier unlocks first, (first tier includes DAO-12, M95, L85A1, G3, PKM, Jackhammer, G36C.) When you get the first teir unlocks, for each class you will be able to get the class' second tier unlock, (in the same order as before, P90, L96A1, G36E, FN2000, that H&K support gun, Mp7 and SCAR-L.) You can only get the second tier unlocks if you have SF.

So in responce to your frst question, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. For the second question, I think the answer is "you get the unlocks when you start getting points in SF." You won't have to wait until you rank up.

it is not so much that whether you HAVE SF,...it is a matter of having your account being played in a rank SF server to get the unlocks.

since reformating my computer, i didn't bother to reinstall SF, since i only play vanilla BF2. but i got the unlocks.

This issue has been discussed at least a dozend times in this forum alone.

To make it short:

As with patch 1.2, you get 1 unlock of SF Weapons for each unlock you have in BF2. It does not matter, where you score the points....
