Hey Kmarion, I got into astrophotography for awhile myself. I used an old Pentax that my grandfather had though. Have you thought of hooking up your camera to a telescope and taking photo's that way? I heard it is an effective way of getting really nice shots.
Soon. Once I get settled down with this. I break it in Friday.
till then..

Man, those things are fucking awesome. I want a telescope that'll hook up to my computer, though. They have these programs that when you put in the name of a constellation, it'll move itself and to be looking at that constellation.

The new Meade ETX Premier Edition telescopes feature the new Level North Technology (LNT) to automatically align your telescope with the night sky. Take the telescope outside and place it on the included tripod and tell the telescope your location by entering your latitude and longitude or simply enter your zip code. The scope will use its internal level sensor and magnetic north sensor to level the telescope and point it north. The built-in internal clock will tell the telescope the correct time. Next the telescope will will choose its first alignment star automatically and move to it -- you just center this star with the red dot on the Smart Finder window. The telescope will choose another star and automatically move to it again allowing you to center this star with the Smart Finder window again. Now you're ready to view thousands of objects at the push of a button. Or choose the "guided tour" and let the telescope automatically show you the best objects in the sky at that moment.

AutoStar Suite astronomer edition software will help you learn the night sky. It displays more than 10,000 celestial objects including planets, stars, galaxies and nebulas. You can print out star charts and even plan your observing sessions. It operates on any Windows-based PC. Includes PC Interface cable to allow control of your ETX PE telescope directly from your computer.

Damn, once u get that you GOT to make a thread solely for posting pics of the night sky, either by camera, or with such a nice telescope. It'll be a great place to gather a lotta nice pics.

Oh, and by the way, your lucky u got 66 degree weather, i got -10 here

The weather is perfect. You could easily fall asleep outside while chillaxing under the stars.
