It was that cold the inside of my windscreen needed de-icing

No, that's a scare tactic used by the de icer companies to make you waste money.

I've been putting warm water on my window for years.

Strange, I had to buy a whole new window cuz mine just shattered when i threw the bucket of hot water over it

YOou must have colder ice, or hotter water. Or you did too much water at once.

Tbh, it's never happened to me either. But my cousin said its happened more than enough times to not do it and "stop being so lazy you idiot"

Twas about -2C and the water wasnt boiled, just hot tapwater.

Went paintballing today, was awesome not having to run around in the mud for 7 hours

It was a lovely day in Slovenia too, went to play football after a long time. Very sunny.
