So, hopefully I'm getting the new 16 gig iPhone this week. Does anyone have an iPhone that can give me some info?

What are the pros and cons of it (in your opinion)?

How's the keyboard?

Is the internet fast?

Do javascript and other plugins work with Safari?

Can I use IRC on it?

What are your favorite web apps?

I've tried to gather as much info as I can, but some stuff I'm not sure about. Thanks in advance!

Karma for all helpful responses.

i cannot answer the pros + cons
i have a Touch which is the iPhone without the Phone

depends: on the internet, you can space out the keyboard by turning it
anywhere else it is a bit tricky
the size of you finger also helps

depends on your internet speed and wireless

yes

i dont know, havent tried. i imagine so.
corret me if im wrong

what do you mean web apps?

Webapps as in 3rd party apps that you can add on.  And thanks, I didn't know you could space out the keyboard.

iPhone doesn't come in 32 gigs. Only the iTouch does.

It is a very useful device the good thing about it is you can go to a lot of websites, the downside is there isn't flash. The keyboard is very easy to use once you get use to it like me. The internet's speed depends on the connection you're on, but the iPhone is different most likely.

You can jailbreak it if you want to and get a lot of applications that you wouldn't normally have. With just the normal apps it's no fun. You'll probably like it.

the iphone is amazin simply because of its functionality ...it can do a lot of things in a few easy steps ...the n95 beats it hands down for camera and 3g etc ...but tbh i think the iphone is going to win the war lol

although sayin tht ...wait till the updated version is out ..with 3g 5 meg camera etc etc etc

2MP Camera and lack of video is a nuisance but not too big a deal. Looks and feels fantastic - and is generally a fantastic advice.

After a day or two of use you'll find how fast you are at using it! It's very quick and easy to learn and you can be very quick with it after little typing

Yep!

I use my brother's iPhone daily for hours - this is what my answers are based on.

I`ve got the touch and its the best 200 quid i ever spent

If you need to go on the tinternet switch it on and your there rather than firing up the computer zzzzz!

Everything is just instant at your fingertips as you sit on the sofa

If your biatch is watching crap on the tv just go and watch anything you like on youtube or check your email

It`s an amazing bit of kit and you won`t regret it

You only have to think about the phone deal, i think its about £40 a month for an 18 month contract in the UK, and the camers sucks btw. I have another better phone this is why i just got the ipod touch.

hope this helps.

I have an iPod Touch, but it's practically the same thing, so...

Poseidon wrote:

Pros: Sexy, sleek design. Wireless connection. User friendly.
Cons: Can't wirelessly sync music, lags a little bit when switching from a menu to the home screen

Poseidon wrote:

Tricky at the start, but you'll get used to it. Fat fingers don't help, but you can improvise.

Poseidon wrote:

Yes, I find it to be quite fast. About a second or two to load a page.

Poseidon wrote:

I think Javascript does work, but flashplayer doesn't.

Poseidon wrote:

Uh, I haven't tried, so I don't know.

Poseidon wrote:

I have tons of web apps under my bookmarks. There are lots of apps available at apple.com/webapps

Have fun!
PS: Remember to shut wifi off when you are not using it. If you leave it on, it will continue to search for available networks, thus draining your battery.

one thing i've noticed using my friends' iphone is that its really easy to miss a key and hit another. probably not a huge problem once you get used to it, but just thought i'd share that little tidbit.

Thanks for the responses SgtHeihn, Ryan, and Ender.

@ Sgt - I love Will It Blend

@ Ryan - I have moderately sized fingers, so I guess I'll be fine.

@ Ender - Doesn't it have autocorrect or whatever?

Gets quite annoying though, when you type a word, and it corrects it to a word you don't want. Then you have to backspace and re-type it.
