California has a much higher cost of living than most the country.

heard that too because of the amount of BAH pay the army gives soldiers stationed over at Lewis.  BAH is the money the army pays you too help support your family and pay bills, depending on where youre at, you could collect more than your actual base pay. For example, if I had lived off post when I deployed to Iraq in 2004 from central texas, I would have been getting paid 600 extra a month on top of what I was getting already.  If I had deployed from where I live now as a reservist, I would get close to 1900 on top of pay.

The power company that made $425,000,000 in net profit after taxes in 2007 is harassing me about my $425 bill several times a week.  Good times, good times.  Once I reach 80 days past due they state in their letter that they can require me to pay a deposit equal to the highest 4 months of utility service.  In that instance if I did not pay the deposit, they can disconnect my service during the worst winter in the last 20 years.   These 2nd interviews can't come soon enough ...
