The following link refers to an article that about mirrors my judgment of the film 'Starship Troopers,' which, in my opinion, had potential but very few redeeming, underbudgeted qualities, despite the presence of CGI bug smashing eye-candy.

Nothing particularly new, though, as controversy related to the politics and style of the book itself proves. Sadly, it seems the story, in one form or the other, is doomed to hack off at least some people.

Such can be seen in (eye roll) this well-referenced wikipedia article.

I was hoping for the powered armor and the "personal" nukes.

Indeed. It'd be like trying to make the Lord of the Rings if you only had enough of a budget for hobbits.

Seriously.  From a novel that put up a few heavily powered soldiers against an unrelenting hoard of insects.  In the movie, you basically had a complete mob of underpowered marines against an unrelenting hoard of insects.  Major suckage...

Ima big starship troopers junky, both versions kick ass. Also the game was freaking amazing because of the mini nuke launcher

I watched this film again the other day...

You'd think that in the future, military squads would be SO much more organised.

It was baically a crowd of people running in with weapons, then running back again.

The game is quite cool though, how there is just SO many of them.
