Stingster, you're motivating me... I have an unfinished project in my garage, me is feeling inspiration(!) - to get it back on track and finish it!
I was going to buy an RX-8, but didn't... I purchased one of these instead (a Mitsubishi 3000GT):
A 4-seater convertible + the look + the HP, sold me (and I got a super-deal, had to travel to Texas to get it though, which was fun):
Only mine, somewhat different than the video, is a AWD VR4 spyder hard-top convertible... it needs to go to the shop for restoration. The original paint was not in good condition + I am replacing the front end with a custom one (also in my garage, hanging on a wall). I am putting new 19" Italian brushed-alloy rims on it; the stock chrome ones are to small and the chrome doesn't suit the car. Replacing the interior - with tan-bomber leather and wood accents. I also found, of all things, a lapel pin maker who had the right machines/equipment to make whatever emblems I want to replace the standard Mitsubishi emblems. I designed a geometric metal-alloy spider in a circular pattern and oval pattern mixed with the three red diamonds... they came out way better than I had hoped; they will be the bling-bling accents for the car; when it's all done.
thats sounds like a nice plan...should be a sharp car when complete. I assume you will be providing photo documentation? hehe
I shelved the project, when my wife quite working for United Airlines and got a nursing degree (she upgraded from LPN, which she was in Sweden, to a RN here), then my daughter started Cornell, and I got the tuition bill (YIKES!), so I kept putting it off... but I need to finish it, it's starting to bother me that it's unfinished.

Wow, that'll be a sweet ride when it's done. Do post pics.

VR4 FTW! I always thought that was a badass car from the 90's love that car
That Ferrari in the first pic above is my favorite (but without the spoiler).
I think the Lotus is overdesigned (or something like that). For some reason I just don't like the excessive curves and scoops on their old and new cars. I would love to drive an Exige around a track though.
Well, all of them actually, but I was talking about the Esprit. For some reason I just don't like the design of them. Even the Exige is a little funky for my taste. I like cars that have big, sleek sides as opposed to indents and aspects that break up the profile. I think that is why I like classic cars and cars from the '80s as opposed to newer designs.
