Anything similar to:

Liquid Tension Experiment
DragonForce
Infected Mushroom
Sonata Arctica
Disturbed
Rhapsody of Fire
etc.

If it can be located on Youtube, all the better.

Sherriff, that's a weird remix of an Underoath song. I like it.

You should look into the Perth band Voyager, especially their first album "Element V". Based on what you've listed i'm sure it would be right up your alley. They recently released their second album although i haven't heard much of it.

Other bands in the "Power Metal" genre you could look into are:
"Nocturnal Rights" (Especially their first album)
some "Blind Guardian"
"Rhapsody"
"Nightwish" (If you don't mind the female singer, aynthing before their latest album which fails hard because they changed singers)
"Cellador" (American, very similar to dragonforce)
"Helloween"

You might want to give "Children of Bodom" a listen. Awesome band.

And if you like "Dragonforce" and have at least listened to their earlier albums you don't deserve to live if you haven't heard "Shadow Warriors". Almost laughed myself to death when i heard it the first time. Shadow Warriors (All their songs are available for download).

Good luck

power metal eh?

Like some might have said before, you can try:

Blind Guardian (power metal on the edge of thrash, epic, tolkien inspired)

Helloween (part of the founding fathers of power metal. Their early stuff is awesome, and the last 2 album are ok)

Gamma Ray (Kai Hansen left Helloween to form Gamma Ray. Speed/Power Metal, a reference in the genre)

Kamelot (if you like the opera/theater side, with some progressive elements, nicely consructed melodies, often in oddtime signatures)

Stratovarius (another reference in power metal. Timo tolkki is a guitar god, and is, IMO, a much more accomplished player than herman li)

Sonata Arctica (some called them Stratovarius 2 heh. A good band. Lots of female fans. Catchy melodies and choruses)

Cellador (falls in the DragonForce category, but less flamboyant. Very fast power metal. they hail from Nebraska)

Wuthering Heights (danish band. blends power, folk, progressive, quite unique, sadly not many know them. very talented musicians, you have to check them out)

if you're interested in checking out some bands that are a bit heavier, you might wanna check into:

Amon Amarth (melodic death metal, viking themed. Very powerful songs. A style of their own)

Ensiferum (viking metal, epic sounding)

Korpiklaani (folk metal. Perfect for partying and thrashing around)

Finntroll (same as korpiklaani with a troll attitude lol)

Norther (similar to Children of Bodom)

Wintersun (only 1 album so far, but very very very good. A must)

You might like bands like Emperor (black metal) too, their last 2 albums are just awesome. Ihsahn is a musical genius.

With these bands, you can easily link to other bands that share similarities. If you like helloween and gamma ray, and lookup kai hansen, you'll see he's done other things, and you can check out what he's done, and discover by yourself many bands that you might like.

Hope this will help you out a bit.

"Nightwish" - I have the Dark Passion Play collector's edition CD.
"Cellador"
"Helloween"

You might want to give "Children of Bodom" a listen. Awesome band. - I've heard a couple, haven't been as impressed. I'll give 'em another go.

Kamelot and Cellador are the best so far, Nocturnal Rights isn't bad either. I still have to look for some of Soldier-Of-Wasteland's first list and his whole second list.

Was not aware that Rhapsody had changed their name...    there you go.

I'll also put in a +1 for "Korpiklaani". Awesome band if you like folk metal.
