I also don't think he'd be a target for assassination. As said above, most of America seems to hate Bush yet nobody's attempted a hit on his life.

Black people have taken power in plenty of other positions without much hassle. These aren't the days of Reconstruction; we don't have the KKK going around lynching every black person who makes a living.

This isn't to say that there isn't racism in this country... but I really don't think it's anywhere near what it was after the Civil War or during the Civil Rights movement. When was the last time the KKK lynched a man? The only racial issues you hear about these days are Kramer getting pissed, Imus trying to sound gangster, and teens being stupid with nooses.

That's because all the would-be assassins all voted for him.  Not allot of assassin types coming out of Berkeley these days.
