lol dont think the multiplayer is worth a measly 25 quid? Are you fucking kidding me? Cinema ticket = £4 = maximum 1hour entertainment/pound. This game is worth more than 25 hours of entertainment...
Cinema tickets are more expensive, but then, I only go to the movies if invited. For everything else, there's DVDs or (thanks to the sharing era) internet copies. A game has to be pretty good for me to buy it, and I usually buy them around 20 quid. After getting Orange Box for $50 dollars, I guess I'm a bit spoiled - because $50 dollars for a game that gives not only less play time but also less variation is too much now

For that matter, I would buy Assassin's Creed and Crysis if I had a computer that could handle them.

Yeah, but i assume you think of purchases in terms of VALUE. The VALUE of CoD4 is far beyond £25, I dont buy many games, I will only buy them if i think the value is higher than the actual price. Sometimes I value single player games very highly if they have a great singleplayer, mainly strategy games some fps, eg I bought Bioshock I now view it as not worth it, the hours I got from the game just werent enough and neither was the gameplay. Mainly I only buy a game if it has multiplayer as that increases the hours I can play it, and hence the entertainment value I place on it.

They are under instruction from Activision.

Steam - "how much do you want to charge, Activition?"
Activision - "Oh, $44.95 sounds good..."
Steam - "done"

Two. Weeks. Later.

Activision - "holy fuck they have interwebs outside America?!"
Steam - "yeah, we have the same price internationally"
Activition - "Fuck that shit, make Australia $88.95"
Steam - "but the whole idea is its cheaper than the stores. They won't pay $106 when the store sells it for $80. What's the poi-"
Activion - "profits nom nom nom"

Edit: wow, I can't spell Activision for shit.

STEAM haven't yet reduced their prices. If people are still buying it, what is the problem? You are paying for the ease of never having to find a CD (or risk damaging it) and also it will be attached to your account forever. On a more positive note, I'm sure STEAM will indefinitely reduce their prices.
It's great until someone steals or hack your account, along with all proof you own the games.

I think people still do that...
