Pilots have a method of fucking with the pressurization to knock people out. However, it is not a recommended procedure. Nor is it taught. But, it does work.Kmarion wrote:
I had this idea awhile ago. What about installing some sort of chemical agent "knockout gas" dispenser in the passenger section of commercial airliners? Hijackers start making demands and threatening to execute passengers and.. Boom!.. lights out.usmarine2005 wrote:
Well all they can do is blow up a plane or kill people. Which is what they can do at your local mall or at a school. Maybe hijack a school bus? How secure is that? Point is, while I agree it is a joke, there is no real (cost) solution.
It's probably totally impractical, seeing as I have never heard it mentioned before..lol.
Give pilots tasers?
I remember.Kmarion wrote:

I just keep thinking of that stand off in that russian theater.
What for? You never open the door in a hostage situation anymore. Never. No matter what.Turquoise wrote:

I heard that once before. Would that effect the pilots also?usmarine2005 wrote:

Nope. Oxygen masks. And you would pull the circuit breaker to the passenger oxy masks so they will not deploy automatically.Kmarion wrote:

Yea, it would need to be instantaneous..GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

I bounced at a bar in Va where a bunch of TSA people came for a party... What a bunch of idiots... (at least the 40-50 i met)
I wouldnt wan't them to bag my groceries... They seemed like the typical paycheck collectors...
Would be nice to have private companies that give a shit to guard our airports...
and i wonder if they have screening going on that even the TSA doesnt know about... facial recognition cameras and other methods?
Either way... terrorists need to be rooted out and killed
Love is the answer
Tampa pioneered that also.[TUF]Catbox wrote:

another way to scare the public even more
Yeah, exactly. You can name thousands of potential targets and there isn't money to defend all of them. The whole approach of trying to defend specific targets is an inefficient use of resources.usmarine2005 wrote:

maybe they want terrorist to be brazen and get caught. that way, you collect intel and fry the bigger fish.blademaster wrote:

Tch. If they'd tried to get that over the border on a bus, hell woulda broken loose. I mean, they considered duct tape, wire, DnD character sheets, a box of Warhammer models, and extensive campaign notes in bad handwriting suspicious enough to deny me entry, a mock IED stands no chance.
I'm watching something on the history channel now. They said if anyone would have been caught anywhere near M42 during the second world war the would have been shot or held until the war was over. Hitler somehow found the location of it even though it is not on any maps or blueprints.

Someone would have a medical condition that fucks that over and BAM, death due to knockout gas is the day's headlines.Kmarion wrote:

As far as the article, all I read was "Terrorists: Our security fucking sucks, take advantage." Then again, that's a bit of a broadcast most anywhere security matters.
It's part of a bigger story that has not been released yet by CNN. I came across it because my local city had just failed.Defiance wrote:

is this the sort of thing when its on the news people say in a sarcastic tone "yes thanks for telling everyone about how i/you can do it to"?Kmarion wrote:
I think the most upsetting part of this is that it is so common now that it barely makes news.
How and the hell is this stuff not plastered all over the major news outlets? We are not just talking about box cutters and butter knives here. These things are replica's of improvised explosive devices. We spend all this time fighting overseas content with the idea that we are holding back Islamic extremist, yet the majority of the time we are tested internally we fail at preventing what would be a tragic outcome. We have learned absolutely nothing about preventing real terrorism. What the hell is going on here?
